Words are typically an afterthought. They’re treated as a commodity & shovelled into the design at the last minute. That’s clearly wrong. Words & design should complement each other, like two sides of the same coin. But just how do you get past the impasse? Give me the opportunity to develop the words before your designer becomes too involved in one direction to turn back. Adopting a words-first strategy should allow them to take advantage of a valuable creative nudge from the first few paragraphs of copy. I firmly believe that this common sense approach is the only certain way of ensuring that the whole to becomes greater than the sum of its parts. Hope you agree.
